We just did a 3-day training blitz with our daughter, 21.5 months. It was a bit different than yours. No "sit and wait", but rather, follow the kid around all day (sans potty, which stays in the washroom) and continually prompt "are your underwear dry?" "remember to tell mamma if you have to pee" etc. The idea is to give the kid the power, rather than just waiting for the potty to catch the pee, and to reinforce the lesson by catching EVERY SINGLE accident and saying "oops, you're peeing, better get to the potty", so they realize that there is a conscious decision to be made. There is an ebook that goes with this method, and all of the reasons behind the approach are listed (http://www.3daypottytraining.com/). The three days were hell... accidents galore, lots of setbacks and I had enormous guilt that I was putting loads of pressure on my daughter AND denying her all of her normal pleasures (walks, park trips, playdates), which took a toll on all of us. I had many, many moments that I thought it was NOT working and we were wasting our time, not to mention a beautiful weekend, which was spent entirely indoors. But, this program swore that if we followed the rules (which we did, except that we didn't remove the bedtime diaper - I was too chicken and I decided that we all needed good sleep to tackle the next days - naps were in underwear though, and DRY), that by the end of the third day, it would "click". And, low and behold, it did! Today was day 5, and she had ZERO accidents. We went on walks, played outside, and I could leave her side to go make dinner etc. knowing she wasn't going to pee all over the place. Yesterday (day 4) there was one partial accident, which we caught and she finished in the potty, but otherwise, she was dry all day. So, I highly, highly recommend this method. It sucks that you'd have to do another 3 days, but if it works, it's better than the months and months that some of my friends have had to endure. Good luck!

Oh good luck! You are so much braver than me, my daughter is the same age and I,m not potty training yet. I keep hoping she,ll come from from daycare one day and "magic" be out of diapers. Sigh.....I don't think that will happen.
